IRES LLM-Wiki — Map of Content

This is the routing entry point for a knowledge base on the international methodology for official energy statistics, centred on the International Recommendations for Energy Statistics (IRES, 2018). The current corpus covers the concepts, classifications, compilation guidance, accounting framework, quality practices, dissemination, and uses presented by IRES. It does not provide current national energy data or country-specific rules unless a cited page explicitly covers them.

How to navigate this wiki

Each annotation below describes what its MOC defines, explains, organizes, or connects. Compare the question with every description and open all MOCs whose scope materially overlaps; a question may span multiple MOCs, so do not choose solely by chapter number.

Within each selected MOC, follow the annotated links to the relevant pages. Prefer topic pages for cited synthesis. Use source digests when the question asks what a particular chapter or document says, or when wider source context is needed.

Topic routes

  • Foundations MOC - establishes the purpose and scope of energy statistics, explains IRES authority and development, and defines foundational boundaries such as energy products and reference territory (Ch. I–II)
  • Products and Classification MOC - organizes energy products under SIEC, defines individual product groups, distinguishes primary from secondary and renewable from non-renewable products, and connects SIEC with CPC and HS (Ch. III, Annex A)

Prior answers and coverage gaps

If the MOCs do not surface relevant coverage, search the MOC annotations and wiki graph. If the question remains uncovered, identify the gap rather than presenting an unsupported inference as established fact.

Evidence and limitations

Wiki pages are cited syntheses, not primary authorities. Preserve their bracketed primary-source citations when using factual claims, and check page confidence and status where they are available. When a claim is questionable or requires exact verification, trace it through the provenance chain:
