SIEC section 8 (not further disaggregated into divisions, groups or classes below the section level). Recall that SIEC’s scope only covers heat that is generated and sold to third parties by an economic unit — heat generated and consumed on-site is outside SIEC’s product scope [IRES, Ch. As with electricity, SIEC does not disaggregate heat by production process; heat is not a physical substance distinguishable by origin, composition or intended purpose in the way fuels are [IRES, Ch. Chapter VI’s reference list of data items defines gross vs. net heat production and a computed “own use” item (the gap between them) — for autoproducers, gross heat production equals net heat production, since gross heat production only counts heat sold to third parties — see Data Items on Energy Flows and Stocks [IRES, Ch.
